Even as a Cat, I Still Have to Work for the Man

A Daoist priest, whose failure to ascend in the Age of Declining Dharma was entirely expected, was lucky enough to be reborn in a new life.

He opened his eyes without having drunk Grandma Meng's Soup of Forgetfulness

Oh, he couldn't open his eyes yet.

A soft, fragile little kitten mewed helplessly in the freezing snow, and was taken home by a hulking man with a fearsome face but a kind heart.

And so began a life of working around the clock, on call 24/7.

But it didn't take long for him to realize there was something strange about his workplace.

A heavily armored ghost-fire knight with no common knowledge of Earth, an industrially manufactured sugar-sweet fake cat with no knowledge of other worlds, diligent employees who were felons from different worlds, and customers who had only come to relax and had no idea they'd entered a den of wolves and tigers: all of them made up this unremarkable little cat cafe.

Today, this peculiar cat cafe was still doing its honest best to stay in business, relying on its industrially manufactured sugar-sweet cat to politely act cute.

Theme: Acting cute.
