Say No to Cake, Starting with Me

After awakening his spiritual power, Dao Daozhai Chi learned that generation after generation of his family had been swordsmiths, specializing in forging weapons for monsters. But for some reason, he inherited neither his ancestors' ability to forge weapons nor their love of swords. Quite the opposite: his ability had mutated partway through his life. As long as he cut something open, it turned into cake. “What a disgrace to the family!” the earthbound spirit of the Dao Daozhai family wailed. “We told the head of the family to keep the bloodline pure, but he wouldn't listen! And now the young master has the power to cut cake! What kind of Dao Daozhai is that? If he had to change, he should at least have become a wagashi maker!” Tired of being nagged, Dao Daozhai Chi ran away from home, taking every blade in the house with him so he could sell them to pay for his travels. But since all the blades had been made for monsters, nobody could recognize their value. So, naturally, he ran out of money. But was Dao Daozhai Chi the sort of person who would give up so easily? No! Instead, he went against the grain and started selling homemade cakes. The ingredients included, but were not limited to: cursed spirits, evil spirits, the dead, heroic spirits, and divine spirits. Who would dare eat something like that? Before long, he'd been caught. The victims included, but were not limited to: a strange sweets fanatic, a strange calico cat, and a strange young master. But that was all right! Dao Daozhai raised his little dessert knife. One cut to go broke, one cut to get rich! Place your bets! If you're my brother, let me take a slice and find out what flavor you are! Inspired by a video of someone cutting everything into cake.
