[Upcoming novel: I’m Done Being the Substitute Female Character] A sweet historical romance, please add it to your reading list~
Food blogger Ruan Xianxian transmigrates into a book, becoming a cannon-fodder female character who gets crushed to death by the major villain before she’s even been in a chapter.
The original owner was the Begonia Fairy, sent by the Heavenly Emperor to use her beauty to beguile the major villain. She was breathtakingly beautiful, a natural enchantress, but unfortunately she was all looks and no brains.
Cowardly and afraid of dying, Ruan Xianxian decides to stay away from the villain. Who could have guessed that, through a twist of fate, she and the brutal, cold-blooded villain would switch souls?
Remembering how the villain had made countless enemies and would eventually be tortured, dismembered, and killed by the heroine, Ruan Xianxian has this to say: Is the food not delicious enough, or the wine not fragrant enough? Why not just enjoy being alive? +:+)
The people of the Demon Realm notice that ever since their Lord married the Begonia Fairy, things have gotten a little strange.
Left Protector: I saw our Lord jump up and cling to Madam’s waist because of a mouse...
The demon ministers: Our Lord must be worried Madam would be startled, so he’s comforting her!
Right Protector: I’ve noticed our Lord has been drooling at the sight of me lately, and keeps asking if I’m married...
The demon ministers: Our Lord is so considerate of his subordinates, even arranging their marriages himself!
Second Elder: I heard our Lord is in the kitchen cooking for Madam again. Food is only meant to fill your stomach. What kind of behavior is this...
Later, after licking the last grain of rice from his bowl, the Second Elder asks: Could I... have another bowl?
A timid, death-fearing foodie heroine X a cold, brutal, emotionally clueless straight-man hero

Blurb:
Gu Xiuxiu is the legitimate daughter of a marquis’s household and the most beautiful woman in Northern Wei. Her elder sister, Consort Chen, is the emperor’s favorite, while her elder brother is the mighty General Dingbei.
Her parents cherish her and her siblings dote on her. The noble families lining up to ask for her hand in marriage have practically worn down the Marquis’s doorstep.
Then, during the Mid-Autumn Banquet, Gu Xiuxiu falls in love at first sight with the Fourth Prince, whom she has just met. But just as she asks the emperor to arrange their marriage, she is suddenly struck by lightning and knocked unconscious.
Her memories return, and she remembers she has transmigrated into a novel called The Concubine Daughter of the Marquis’s Household, as the substitute female character who takes credit for the heroine’s deeds.
The heroine is her half-sister, who looks a little like her and once rescued the male lead, the Fourth Prince, after he fell into the water as a child.
At the Mid-Autumn Banquet, the Fourth Prince mistakes Gu Xiuxiu for his savior, and treats her with tenderness and affection.
To marry the Fourth Prince, she is willing to ruin her reputation, fall out with her family, and ask the emperor to grant their marriage.
But when the Fourth Prince discovers he has mistaken her for someone else, he conspires with the enemy to kill her brother, fabricates evidence of treason to exterminate her family, and even gives her away to other men as a plaything.
Later, with the enemy at the gates, she and his beloved are both taken hostage. A rebel soldier presses a sword to her throat and asks the Fourth Prince whether he will save her or his beloved.
Without hesitation, the Fourth Prince saves his beloved. A rebel soldier runs her through with a sword and throws her off a cliff, leaving no body behind.
When she wakes, the emperor asks with a smile, “Did you just say you wanted me to arrange your marriage to the Fourth Prince?”
Gu Xiuxiu: ...
To hell with being some damn substitute. Keep away from me!
Under everyone’s gaze, Gu Xiuxiu smiles sweetly and turns to look at the sickly Crown Prince, rumored to have little time left. “What I meant was... I want to marry the Fourth Prince’s older brother, His Highness the Crown Prince.”
The Crown Prince: ?
-
Gu Xiuxiu gets her wish and marries the sickly Crown Prince, who supposedly won’t live another three months. Watching his frail figure cough up blood in the breeze, she decides to bring him a little warmth in the last days of his life.
So...
The Crown Prince paints, and she adds incense to the room.
The Crown Prince practices martial arts, and she brings him tea and wipes away his sweat.
The Crown Prince falls gravely ill, and she boils medicine and fetches water.
As the three-month deadline approaches, the Crown Prince keeps coughing up blood. Gu Xiuxiu takes his hand and asks earnestly, “Is there anything you still wish to do before you die?”
His gaze darkens. His long fingers hook into the sash at her waist as he leans close and chuckles, “I want a child.”
At noon the next day, Gu Xiuxiu looks at the Crown Prince, now brimming with energy, and nearly faints from anger.
Damn it, weren’t you supposed to die in three months?

It's better to be a sand sculpture. People who use swords are numb.
Come on, sister, wake me up! I actually felt sorry for Zhang Yue.
Oh my god, I actually feel really sorry for the Emperor of Heaven in this chapter, and Bai Xiaohua is awesome. Zhang Yue is indeed not good to Xianxian and the others, but he really loves Bai Wei to the core, and he has nothing to say about how nice Bai Xiaohua is. Xianxian disliked Xiaohua at first, but he could always be so kind to Xiaohua.
Okay, one takes his mother's surname and the other takes his father's surname (although his biological brother is nothing), hehe, that's fine.
I burst into tears when I saw the cute little white flower. Bai Xiaohua's character suddenly became more vivid and lovable
What? The last exchange, why don't you exchange it back? Hahaha
A tragedy disguised as a comedy, I cried to death~ But it's really good to watch (╥_╥)
He Xiangxiang is a good couple (?_?)
Really so bloody hahahahaha
This book is really beautiful
