[Blurb]
To escape the pollen and allergens of Beijing's spring, Shu Zixing returns to his home in Lingshui County, Hainan, planning to spend a month there recuperating. But summer arrives earlier than usual in Lingshui this year. Disliking the muggy heat, he decides to return to Beijing ahead of schedule. Then, on the evening of his departure, he unexpectedly meets Mu Yihe.
Is this their first meeting or a reunion? A friendly gift from fate, or the start of a doomed romance? Shu Zixing promptly cancels his ticket. Over the following days, his relationship with Mu Yihe quickly deepens. Mu Yihe always thinks Shu Zixing is just playing around, while Shu Zixing falls deeper and deeper as they spend time together. He pretends to be the kind of person Mu Yihe needs, hiding his true feelings and returning to Hainan every spring for three years to spend a month with him... until he vanishes in the fourth year.
If he disappeared, then he disappeared. It was just the kind of game adults play, and exactly what Mu Yihe expected. Yet he discovers that, just like Shu Zixing, he has long since fallen too deep to ever forget him.
So he decides to head north alone. Even if it's like searching for a needle in the ocean, he'll find the person he loves. But Mu Yihe never expected that when they meet again, Shu Zixing would have become someone else entirely, nothing like the person he'd thought he was...
"I've hated spring for as long as I can remember, but because of you, I always find myself looking forward to its arrival."
*Notes:
1. I've thought about this for ages, but I really can't think of anything in this book that might be a problem. The only thing worth mentioning is that although it's told mainly from the receiving partner's perspective, the top's point of view occasionally appears when the plot calls for it.
2. There's no angst at all, just sweetness. The writing is light and easy to read, perfect for reading over a meal, and even better as dessert.
3. A lively slice-of-life story full of everyday warmth. You might get hungry reading it at night.
4. Life is hard. Read whatever you like, and I hope each day brings you good luck.
Thank you for being here.
