Mr. Peacock

This story and Red Dust Upside Down are companion novels.

"...Have you ever heard the story of the cuckoo? A cuckoo lays its eggs in a sparrow's nest, and the sparrow takes them for its own chicks, raising them with all its care and bringing them all kinds of bugs to eat. Cuckoos are big, and their chicks grow fast, so you often see a sparrow working hard, flying back and forth to feed a cuckoo chick several times its own size."

"What are you trying to say?"

"Pei Yin is that sparrow."

Though he's ill-tempered, sharp-tongued, arrogant, and hot-blooded, he always instinctively looks after those cuckoo chicks, even after they've grown stronger than he is."

But in Ajiangcuo's heart, Pei Yin isn't just a sparrow. He's a more delicate, beautiful bird, with gorgeous feathers, an arrogant temperament, and a kind heart.

Pei Yin is his Mr. Peacock.

This story has little to do with the entertainment industry. It's a second-chance romance, of sorts. One character goes through an awkward phase of adolescence, so be patient. The other is a peacock who says one thing and means another, so treat him gently.

There won't be any major angst.
