The Silly, Adorable Insectoids of the Interstellar Age

Announcement: The completed insectoid novels Starcraft: The Indebted Insect and Starcraft: The Carter Insects are now available. Please subscribe!

[Insectoid Novel] In this world, there are two sexes: female insects and male insects. Females are strong, males are weak, and the protagonist is powerful. Mind the warnings: the protagonist is a male who is weak and adorably clumsy at first.

Short version:

Xiao Yueyuan lived with his father on a backwater planet for twenty-two years. After getting into Mitran Military Academy on the Imperial Capital Planet, he set off for the capital. But the ship was attacked along the way, and he became an orphan.

The serious version:

With no friends or family on the Imperial Capital Planet, Xiao Yueyuan is having a truly hard time. He can barely make ends meet by livestreaming, and he has to keep his identity as a male insect secret, afraid that his scumbag of a father, who abandoned his female parent, will discover who he is. He lives in constant fear every day.

Just when he finally finds a female insect he likes, he has to worry about his identity as a male being exposed.

Later...

After reuniting with his father, he is utterly doted on by both his female and male parents. His cousin, a brother who looks cold but is warm inside, takes care of him, and his adorable, soft younger cousin is there for him to pinch on the cheek. All he has to do is try his best at romance (crossed out), study hard (crossed out), and act cute.

Lance's version: The battlefield was exhausting, so after retiring, he just wanted to go to the academy, kick back, and become a mecha mechanic who could coast through life. Who would have thought a female insect would keep flirting with him and asking him to be her personal mecha mechanic? As a real mecha warrior and mechanic, he says, I can speak for myself. I don't need to be anyone's subordinate mecha warrior. Then one day, he really did fall for her.

One-on-one romance: the adorably clueless, insanely powerful gong x the insanely powerful shou who never says a word and just watches you show off
