In the thirty-sixth year of Beicang, Yan Chu, King of Mobei, took control of the realm, reformed the court, and sent his elite armies across the nations, terrifying the four seas and building an empire for the ages. The only time he ever showed a soft heart was when he spared Yuan Huan, the ninth princess of the previous dynasty, and kept her in Qiongyu Tower. This moonlight in his heart could do as she pleased, and he indulged her every whim.
Over the next four years, they argued countless times and tore away all pretense. Yuan Huan wore plain clothes and a silver hairpin every day. After their last argument, Yan Chu stormed out, vowing never to set foot in Qiongyu Tower again.
Once Yuan Huan lost his favor, she became a pitiful nobody whom anyone could bully. One day, a noblewoman visiting the palace shoved her, and she hit her head on a pillar and lost consciousness. When she woke, she had developed a strange illness: she had forgotten every argument she'd had with Yan Chu, and instead began remembering the good things about him every day.
Scene:
After hitting her head, Yuan Huan awoke in the Hall of Mental Cultivation. The man beside her had a profile as resolute as iron and deep-set eyes.
Yan Chu was certain she was about to insult him and make sarcastic remarks again.
But when the person on the bed saw him, she didn't show her usual look of disgust. Instead, tears welled in her eyes as she touched the lump on the back of her head and cried out that it hurt.
Her cry of pain brought out several veins on the back of Yan Chu's hand.
He had seen her with red eyes and tears streaming down her face as she cursed him, but he couldn't withstand the sight of her blushing and peeking at him through fluttering lashes.
So, less than two months after saying those words, Emperor Chengwu, who had always kept his word, broke his own vow and stepped through the gates of Qiongyu Tower with a cold expression.
Note: The heroine's background is a mystery. There are no national or family vendettas, so they can fall in love normally.

Title: After Waking Up, I Became the Gods' Beloved
Synopsis: After Waking Up, I Became the Gods' Beloved
Yu Yao is the only black-hearted lotus in all of heaven and earth. Her status and seniority are astonishingly high, but instead of devoting herself to cultivation, she spends her time pulling scams and playing tricks for fun. The many gods dare not speak up, cowed by the ancient, living powerhouses backing her.
At last, after living so freely, she got what was coming to her.
She fell in love with a young celestial grandson thousands of years her junior. For his sake, she curbed her temper, climbed the sacred mountain to gather immortal herbs, journeyed beneath the four seas to capture spirit beasts, and begged her master for immortal pills. She even severed ties with an old friend over a single word from him.
Who could have guessed that the young celestial grandson, Yun Ye, would work with the Sacred Maiden of the Koi Clan to spin one lie after another just for her, all to attain godhood? When the tribulation finally struck, Yu Yao took the fatal blow for him in her true form. Not only did she receive no gratitude, she was slandered, sealed in her immortal form, and stripped of her spiritual power.
When time turned back, Yu Yao remembered her own foolish behavior. After laying low for a while, she finally saw the light, said nothing, and went straight back to the nest of ancient gods to seek protection.
Her master, renowned throughout the immortal realm for his transcendent bearing, flew into a rage. "The Celestial Clan has gone too far!"
Her overprotective, tyrannical younger brother emerged from seclusion with a cold expression. "Someone actually dared to deceive my sister."
Even the disciple she'd casually taken in ten thousand years ago had become a God of War, rushing back from the edge of the Heavenly Abyss to demand justice for her.
Before Yu Yao could even feel relieved, her greatest protector ever, the Kunpeng who had slept in the depths of the sea for ten thousand years, her childhood friend, the mercurial Lord Sovereign, awoke.
Scene:
When Gu Yunxi awoke, the four seas and eight wastelands came to pay tribute, and all the ancient gods had gathered. Only the black-hearted lotus was missing.
After a friend finished recounting Yu Yao's "glorious deeds" over the years, he patted Gu Yunxi on the shoulder with a sigh. "You've been in seclusion all this time, and she's suffered a lot. When she comes to you to cry about it, remember to comfort her properly."
Gu Yunxi glanced indifferently at the jade pendant in his hand and gave a cold laugh. "Do you think she dares come see me?"
