The Iron Man's Resurrection Trial

This is basically a rewrite of movies I can't stand, like Iron Man 3 and Black Widow's solo movie.

Iron Man saved half the universe, laid down his burdens, and could finally retire in peace and move on to the afterlife.

He never expected someone to grab him and say, "Iron Man! You can't die!"

"The Avengers have no successor! Pick someone to take over before you die!"

Iron Man: ...Can't you let me rest in peace even after I'm dead?

Iron Man didn't even get to enjoy a few years of peaceful happiness before sacrificing himself for the world, and his will to live was destroyed.

Wakandan technology kept his body alive. With the help of the mutants and DC superheroes, Captain America connected to Iron Man's consciousness and helped him rebuild his will to live.

Captain America asks Iron Man to design trials that will put his candidates in all kinds of predicaments and test their abilities.

Iron Man: But I have no interest in tormenting my own people, thanks.

Old Popsicle: Then we'll just have to ask your evil counterpart for help.

The evil Iron Man, nicknamed the White Suit, appears, and Tony experiences for the first time what it means to think like a villain.

White Suit: You don't understand the fun of psychologically tormenting the good guys.

For Little Spider, we expose his identity and send his enemies his family's address.

For Sherlock, we put both Watson and Watson's wife in danger, then have Watson beg him to save his wife.

Iron Man: Enough! What will it take for you to stop?

Old Popsicle: Obviously, for you to come back on your own.

Iron Man eventually discovers that every one of his successors has some reason why they can't take over the Avengers.

Old Popsicle: There's no one else who can take your place.

So come back to life, Iron Man!

Iron Man has no romantic pairing and no daughter. In this setting, Pepper and Happy are married, while all other characters have their canon pairings. Romance is not a major focus and serves the characters and plot.

Theme: Love for one's companions can transcend time and space, and even overcome death.
