After the Breakup, the Whole Internet Started Shipping Them

Chi Cheng and He Qinghuai broke up years ago, and have carefully maintained a seemingly harmonious relationship ever since. They used to be the closest teammates. Now, they're the most distant of friends. They rarely interact in their circle, and their contact is limited to exchanging holiday greetings or liking each other's posts on social media. Chi Cheng always thought things would stay that way: a simple connection, and nothing more. Until she ran into He Qinghuai at an event she couldn't avoid. He said, "Chi Cheng, it's been five years. I've grown up. I don't want to keep playing this game where we stay friends after breaking up." - Chi Cheng thought their entanglement would end after He Qinghuai said that, but an unexpected live-streamed travel variety show brought the two, once members of the same group, back together. Under the spotlight of the cameras, they met again not long after he'd said those harsh words. Their awkward dynamic, at once familiar and uncomfortable, had netizens hooked. On top of that, after the recent event, netizens had just dug into their past and learned the two had once been lovers. With their curiosity piqued, they eagerly watched the drama unfold and shouted, "If I ship them, I'll take responsibility!" Of course, the production team wasn't about to let this free publicity go to waste. So, on camera, the two were forced together. Off camera, they deliberately kept their distance. Until one night during a livestream, after losing a game of Truth or Dare, He Qinghuai drunkenly muttered, "Chi Cheng, I really hate you..." The moment he said it, the livestream chat exploded! You can only hate someone if you love them! This ship is real! Theme: Growth
