A Mountain from the Start

Qiu Li was a minor celebrity who had been in the entertainment industry for half a year and still hadn't made a name for herself. After offending her company, she was put on the blacklist.

With no work, she returned to her grandmother's orchard, where she received a "spirit stone" her grandmother had spent a whopping 9,999 yuan to buy.

The excuse was that she should take the spirit stone into the mountains to clear her mind. In reality, she was going there to repay a debt.

According to her grandmother, the spirit stone was a bond stone for the divine beast Mengji, and the mountain she had to visit was Shizhe Mountain.

In all her twenty-some years, Qiu Li had never before encountered a situation where she paid for something and still had to repay a debt.

A scam! An absolute scam!

To expose the fraudster Mengji and reveal his true face, so that no more people would be cheated,

Qiu Li, champion of justice, set off for Shizhe Mountain.

As soon as she stepped into the mountain, Qiu Li realized something was wrong.

Everything was wrong.

Never mind that all the animals she met along the way could speak. Just look at them: they were exactly like the mythical beasts from legend.

Before she had time to be surprised, she saw the owner of the spirit stone.

To her astonishment, he really was the divine beast Mengji!

The divine beast Mengji who could turn stones into gold and make people's dreams come true!

Mengji told her that unless she fulfilled their agreement and planted Shizhe Mountain with trees and plants, she would never be able to leave.

Qiu Li thought of the book her grandmother had specifically prepared for her before she left, A Complete Guide to Growing Plants from Scratch, and finally realized that she was the one who had been scammed.

At first, when viewers clicked into a livestream called A Day in the Life at Shizhe Mountain, they had no idea how serious things were.

The channel was unusually distinctive. Not only did the host change every day, but every host was a mythical beast no one had ever seen before: Ershu, Dang Kang, Luoyu...

The livestream's daily activity was a tree-planting poll, where viewers voted on which species to plant that day.

It was called tree planting, but the trees would grow into towering giants almost as soon as they were planted.

The number of viewers soared, while the plants and animals on the mountain became more and more numerous before their eyes.

Eventually, viewers were no longer satisfied with watching from afar. They wanted to visit the mountain and see it with their own eyes.
