The Forcible Taking of a Minister's Wife

Everyone says A Luo is lucky.

Born the legitimate eldest daughter of the Vice Minister of Rites, she is cherished and pampered.

Her family has also arranged a fine marriage for her early on. Once she comes of age, she will marry into the Marquis of Nanyang's household.

The marquis's heir, Xiao Jili, is as handsome as a jade tree and gentle in temperament.

Marrying him would mean a life of pure bliss for A Luo.

But while she is burning incense, the wind lifts the carriage curtain, and A Luo locks eyes with the powerful Crown Prince.

The Crown Prince looks at A Luo with growing interest. Ignoring the fact that she is already engaged, he insists on keeping her by his side.

Everyone who knows the truth feels sorry for A Luo.

The Crown Prince is temperamental, and A Luo's status is too low for her to become Crown Princess.

Once his interest fades, A Luo is bound to suffer.

How could being the Crown Prince's concubine compare to being Xiao Jili's wife?

But as the Crown Prince steadily ascends the throne, A Luo remains the only person at his side.

One day, a palace attendant enters to serve them and sees the Crown Prince personally fanning A Luo.

He peels the grapes recently presented to him and eagerly feeds them to A Luo's rosy lips.

No one knows that in his previous life, the Crown Prince was drugged and driven mad, losing his position as heir.

After a new emperor ascended the throne, he was cast out of the palace to fend for himself.

At the time, only the wife of the Marquis of Nanyang, passing by by chance, took pity on the deposed crown prince of the previous dynasty and gave him food to keep him alive.

As she tended to his wounds, her sleeve slipped down by accident.

Beneath it, her fair wrist was crossed with scar after scar.
