The Leisurely Daily Life of Shunzhi's Empress

Borjigit Zhuoma was ceremoniously carried from the grasslands into the palace.

Before she left home, her father and mother held her hand with worry in their eyes and told her that although she was going to the Forbidden City to become empress, she mustn't grow arrogant.

Her aunt had been too strong-willed and failed to win the favor of the Shunzhi Emperor, so she had been deposed and made Consort Jing.

Zhuoma smiled and nodded to show she understood. She was going to the Forbidden City to serve as a decoration.

The Shunzhi Emperor had already dealt the Borjigit clan a blow once. He wouldn't do it again lightly.

As a symbol of the Manchu-Mongol alliance, all she had to do was stay safely in the harem and she'd have done her duty.

Before entering the palace, Zhuoma had already made up her mind. She would do her job well and cling to Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang. She would never meddle in anything that wasn't her concern!

She would never get involved in the love and hatred among the Shunzhi Emperor's consorts!

And she would never get entangled with any of his children!

But then... why did all those little dumplings start clinging to her of their own accord?

And later, the Shunzhi Emperor also began dropping by from time to time.

Zhuoma: Your Majesty, you can come by whenever you like, but why are you sneaking your son's honey water? Be careful, or Fuhquan and Xuanye will start crying!
