Silent

Everyone knows how terrifying a thunderclap can be, yet few realize that the most putrid, most impossible-to-avenge evils in this world are all hidden in silence.

In Lingang City, Changhuai Avenue cuts the city in two. The eastern district is prosperous, the western district run-down. Beneath the polished surface lies a tangled web of crimes stretching back decades. A string of murders, each marked by a mysterious ritual, erupts one after another. Every killing corresponds to the despairing final chapter of a literary classic.

Detective Captain You Li is grounded and steadfast in upholding the law, guarding the last line of justice in the world of the living. Specially appointed criminal profiler Ru Shi Huakai is cool-headed and perceptive, skilled at dissecting the depths of the human heart and calmly observing the game from the shadows.

The two join forces, starting with the first murder case, a blindfolded execution. One by one, they tear away the respectable masks people wear. They encounter Guixu, an underground organization that believes in vigilante justice, and dismantle, layer by layer, a chain of crimes in which generations have covered for one another.

Those who grew up in the abyss and those who uphold the laws of the human world test and tug at each other through layers of fog. Amid the dividing line between good and evil, they find redemption.

Every silent cry will one day resound throughout the world. Every hidden sin will eventually be exposed.

Theme: No crime is beyond forgiveness, but vigilante justice is not justice either. When rotten evil hides beneath a city's respectable facade, we must uphold the law and protect victims who cannot speak for themselves. Seek out glimmers of light in the abyss of human nature, and explore the boundaries between good and evil and the meaning of redemption.
