The Jade Market of Ghosts

For generations, the Shen family has guarded the main underground Ruins. Shen Yan had hoped to live a quiet life in the town's Huichun Clinic, gathering herbs and treating patients as an ordinary young man. But a midnight ghost market suddenly opens in the old locust grove west of town, swallowing the living one after another. The ghost market lies in the shadowy divide between the main and subsidiary Ruins, and every Yin entity's schemes are aimed at the black jade of the Abyss of Return bound to Shen Yan, the seal of the Three Ruins. Paper lanterns sway along the ghost market's long street, where three taboo Yin objects appear one after another: warm jade from a tomb, a coin held in a dead man's mouth, and a red phoenix hairpin. A red-clad Yin spirit blocks the way to seize the jade; every stallkeeper on the street awakens and closes in for the kill. Deep inside the ghost market, the source of the Purple Ruins has long since laid a plan spanning eternity. The jade guardian steps into the divide between Yin and Yang, venturing onto the ghost market's long trading street, rife with illusions and tangled destinies. Su Yan, guardian of the Su family's Ruins, sends a message by leaf and provides support from the outside. Together, they brave the ghost market, break its illusions, and suppress the Yin spirits, protecting the lights of countless homes in the human world as they confront the Purple Ruins' ancient scheme buried deep beneath the earth. When the ghost market opens, what is traded has never been antiques or old curios, but life, death, and fate. Theme: Face the darkness and protect the warmth and peace of the mortal world with your own life. Hold fast to your true self and don't be led astray by greed or illusions.
