An Ancient Jade Buried in Frost, Waiting a Thousand Years for One Person

Lin Yan, an archaeologist, was excavating a strange late Tang tomb on a barren slope of Mount Mang when he found no coffin or remains inside, only an ancient piece of Hetian jade marked with a crack. The moment his fingertip touched its surface, memories from a thousand years ago flooded his mind. Su Qingshuang, a noblewoman from an illustrious family, fell in love at first sight with Shen Yanci, a young border garrison officer. He promised to return and marry her, carving a piece of jade with his own hands as a token of their love. When war broke out at the frontier, he left for the battlefield and never came back. Su Qingshuang waited for years, only to hear that he had died in battle. Heartbroken, she shattered the white jade, and her unfulfilled longing was buried deep in the earth.
