An Ancient Relic Bears My Longing, a Thousand Miles to Yanmen

A stone chamber deep within Mount Beimang lay sealed for two thousand years, containing thirty-eight ancient objects that held the souls of the dead. During a bloody battle at Yanmen in the Yuanhe era of the Eastern Han dynasty, the men of Mount Mang marched north to guard the passes and died for their country. Back home, the women sealed their boundless longing inside objects, waiting in silence. After archaeologists excavate the chamber, Shen Yan and his companions escort the artifacts a thousand miles north to the ancient battlefield at Yanmen. A jade hairpin decorated with winter plum blossoms, a silver comb with curling branches, a broken flute from the battlefield... Each artifact carries an obsession that transcends life and death, journeying to the beloved buried on the battlefield. Along the way, the collector Qiu Yuan covets the power of these obsessions and follows them, hoping to seize the artifacts with dark magic. Snow falls beyond the frontier. One by one, the wishes are fulfilled, the artifacts' obsessions laid to rest, and they return to Yanmen, the place where their beloveds lie buried. Each object holds a thought, each one a deeply moving testament to love and longing amid a chaotic age.
