I Went Viral After Livestreaming a Stay in a Haunted House

In the second semester of her senior year, Xi Yu found a job with a real estate agency.

The requirements: a materialist, a monthly salary of 8,000, and an internship certificate. All she had to do was spend two days living in a certain house while livestreaming.

Xi Yu took the job.

But the boss hadn't mentioned it was a haunted house.

Well, she was already here, so Xi Yu set up her streaming equipment.

The viewers were even more scared than Xi Yu was:

[ I looked it up. Last year, a couple hanged themselves in this rental house. Their bodies weren't discovered until they'd been rotting all summer. The streamer has nerves of steel! ]

[ The husband cheated, so his wife hacked him and his mistress to death, then drank pesticide. Three people died in that house! ]

[ A neighbor broke in and murdered a family of five! You'd live in the house where an entire family was wiped out? ]

Xi Yu shrugged. She wasn't afraid of being broke, so why should she be afraid of this?

Xi Yu thought the job was pretty great. Not only were rent and utilities covered, she was living in a mansion she never would have dreamed of affording.

On her first night in the haunted house, Xi Yu bought groceries. "I'm making chicken curry rice today."

The viewers in the livestream: [ Aaaah, this is making my mouth water! ]

Xi Yu said, "The streamer isn't drooling."

[ I'm talking about the ghost behind you! ]

Xi Yu: "How could there, "

She turned around.

There was a ghost. A really big one.

A ghost with half its head rotted away was staring hungrily at her.

Xi Yu: Holy crap! Physics is no longer a thing.

It's fine. She still believed in martial arts.

Xi Yu swung her spatula. Bang, bang, bang!

The ghost fell to its knees.

Sitting on the stove, Xi Yu said, "Come on. Why won't you reincarnate? Tell me your story."

This month, the Haishi Public Security Bureau received a flood of reports.

"The couple in that rental house didn't kill themselves. It was murder. The killer was the girl's father. He couldn't break them up, so he killed them!"

"The wife helped her husband solicit prostitutes while she was pregnant, then killed the other woman afterward. There's a fourth body under the floor!"

"They got the wrong person for that family murder!"

Everyone at the police station: "???"

Gu Chengzhi, captain of Haishi's Criminal Investigation Division, asked, "Who provided the leads?"

"Right here, Captain."

Someone handed him a tablet.

Gu Chengzhi tapped into a... haunted-house livestream???

Xi Yu was born with yin-yang eyes and could see things other people couldn't.

To earn a commission selling haunted houses, Xi Yu was forced to become a Good Samaritan, helping the ghosts trapped inside them move on to the afterlife.

Then she went viral for beating up evil spirits on livestream and working with the police to catch criminals!

That year, the Haishi Public Security Bureau's case clearance rate also climbed to 100%!

Bonus Scene

In the interrogation room.

After correctly revealing the details behind several murder cases, Xi Yu was summoned to the police station for questioning.

The young detective questioning her wore a stern expression. "Come clean. How did you learn so much?"

Gu Chengzhi clicked his tongue. "Is that any way to talk to your sister-in-law?"

Xi Yu, drinking tea brewed by the young detective and eating snacks the officers had given her: "..." Weren't we supposed to keep this under wraps?

The people gathered outside the interrogation room, watching the drama unfold: "..."

When did they get together?!

Who didn't know that Captain Gu of Haishi's Criminal Investigation Division was cold-hearted, poker-faced, and distant? Who would have thought even that iron tree could blossom???

Xi Yu said earnestly, "Captain Gu, please use my title when we're at work."

Gu Chengzhi: "..."
