The Yilan Love Story

Winter, 1999. The residential compound of Hongqi Machinery Factory.

That winter in the Northeast was especially cold! That year, layoffs across the Northeast were especially severe.

Zhao Dalong and Li Mingyuan were two powerless drops in that tide of layoffs.

Their love was precious, but in an era that devoured people, love meant little, too.

And yet their love, beneath thick blankets of snow, kept burning again and again in the frigid north.

With Zhao Dalong around, Li Mingyuan could do whatever he wanted.

Love means having the confidence to take it for granted.
