I Turned Into a Beagle, So I Chose to Go Crazy

Lin Jinan has the worst luck imaginable.

One moment, she's an ordinary living person, betrayed by the best friend and the almost-boyfriend she treated with all her heart, who team up to push her into the abyss.

The next, she opens her eyes covered in dog fur: she's become a purebred beagle?!

She can't speak like a person or explain her grievances. All she has are four paws.

"What a poor little dog. Let's take it home."

Su Wanning crouches down, her voice just the right degree of softness, looking like the picture of kindness.

Jiang Xu chimes in beside her: "Taking it in would be a good deed, too."

Every word they say sounds compassionate, but their scheming is plain to see in their eyes.

She can't make a human sound. She opens her mouth, trying to curse them, but all that comes out is a soft, plaintive:

"Woof!"

Absolutely no threat...

They've set her up and killed her, and now she's been stripped of even the right to accuse them.

Reasoning won't work, so she may as well go crazy.

She twists and hops around on the spot, barking at the top of her lungs, and strange things begin to happen.

The two people who were just trying so hard to act kind start blurting out the truth against their will.

"If we take it home, we can build an image of being kind to animals."

As soon as the words leave their mouths, they both freeze, the masks on their faces shattered to pieces.

Stealing slippers and barking right in someone's face look like nothing more than a little dog acting up to outsiders.

But these seemingly nonsensical antics always seem to bring some unseen retribution down on someone.

When she was human, she cared about appearances and stayed within the bounds of propriety, only to end up covered in wounds.

As a stray dog, she no longer has to bear the shackles of human relationships. Instead, she can strike right at the sore spots of all those sanctimonious hypocrites.

Passersby only see a crazy stray dog that doesn't seem too bright.

High in the corner of an alley, a snow-white ragdoll cat crouches.

Its glassy eyes stay fixed on her, quiet and unreadable.

No one knows why it is keeping watch nearby, whether it's here for the show or has some other plan.

One farce after another unfolds.

Can the retribution she brings by acting crazy really come without any cost?

The chains of this dog's body hold her fast.

After she's put every hypocrite through the wringer, can she become human again?

Theme: Be kind, but don't be a pushover. If you don't want to turn your frustration inward, turn it outward on others.
