Ashes Across the Pass [New Ghost Story of a Beautiful Woman]

This is a parallel AU that preserves all the characters' original fates and personalities, set amid an original era of borderland turmoil.

War fires blazed in a time of chaos, sweeping all three realms into the upheaval. The court's influence kept spreading, steadily swallowing the once-free martial world. Within and beyond the ancient Hangu Pass, ordinary people struggled to survive, displaced and wandering from place to place.

Three women, each bound by her own shackles, crossed paths in this desolate world.

Hua Jianyin had been trapped for half her life by an obsession with love. Feng Yaozheng wandered from place to place under the Star-Devouring Blood Curse, never in control of her own life. Yin Ziping had a healer's compassionate heart, yet again and again found herself helpless in the face of life and death.

In this world, black and white had long been turned upside down, and there had never been a clear line between good and evil. Conflict and bloodshed were everywhere. They did everything they could to protect the old and the young behind them, but often, in the end, they could not change the outcome. The curse remained rooted, and those who left never came back.

They had never dreamed of defying Heaven's will or turning the world upside down.

All they wanted was to stand together as kindred spirits in this ruined world, doing everything they could to protect that small, warm light of humanity.

Theme: In a time of chaos, ordinary people cannot defy fate, and resistance does not necessarily lead to a happy ending. Each person breaks free from their own cage, not by using divine power to overturn suffering, but by holding on to the warmth of companionship. Among ruins and scorched earth, they preserve the light of humanity and life, exploring the perseverance and compassion of ordinary people under the weight of fate.
