Liu Yi is a rough-and-tumble soldier.
The day the army returned victorious, he was marching with the troops when a slender, handsome man suddenly crashed into his arms.
The man's scent filled his nose, making his throat itch.
After a bout of passionate entanglement, the beauty allowed him to get close.
The beauty was delicate and demanding, getting upset at the slightest inconvenience. He was especially temperamental at night, clawing and scratching, his eyes red from crying as he trembled and told Liu Yi, "Get out."
Liu Yi could go along with anything else, but not that. The last time he obeyed and left, the beauty ignored him all day the next morning. And since Liu Yi had no idea how to soothe him, all he could do was keep his head down and get to it.
The beauty trembled and fainted in his arms, looking completely satisfied.

The army returned victorious once again. At the victory banquet, Liu Yi overheard the people beside him talking in low voices. "This great victory was all thanks to Prince An, who arranged provisions and ensured the army had everything it needed from the rear."
"Who's Prince An?"
"Prince An, Shen Jingyu, is His Majesty's younger brother. He'd kept away from court until now, and even after His Majesty summoned him several times, he never returned. No one knows why he's suddenly come back."
They said plenty more, about Shen Jingyu's illustrious birth, his aloof temperament, and his untouchable status.
Liu Yi paid them no mind, until he saw the man at the center of the crowd. That familiar face, that familiar figure, was unmistakably his wife.
Liu Yi's head was spinning. He suddenly remembered the night before he left for battle, when on a whim he'd pinned Shen Jingyu down and spanked him. Shen Jingyu's bottom had been bright red, as had his face. He'd cried and cursed Liu Yi, threatening to kill him.
Liu Yi, distracted, knocked over his wineglass. His lower belly was soaked and cold.
Shen Jingyu happened to bring him a drink. Lowering his eyes, he glanced at Liu Yi. "You're all wet."
Liu Yi felt his blood surge. Afraid the others would notice something was up, he made an excuse about changing clothes and slipped away.
Once outside the hall, Liu Yi sensed someone behind him and turned around. His heart leaped. "What are you doing here?"
Shen Jingyu replied with a straight face, "I'm wet too."
