The Blind Man and His Ugly Wife

A car accident leaves Yu He, once a brilliant young master of traditional Chinese painting, not only blind but also in excruciating pain whenever she stands for too long. She has to rely on a wheelchair and is reduced to a complete invalid.

To take care of her, her family arranges for her to marry a woman.

Yu He threatens to take her own life, refusing to drag the other woman down with her.

But the woman comes to Yu He in tears, begging her.

She says she is hideously ugly and everyone despises her. People find her disgusting at a glance. She is so ugly she can't even find a job, let alone fall in love.

She begs Yu He to let her stay, saying she has no one and that no one but the Yu family would take her in.

The woman speaks with such conviction, crying so heartbrokenly.

Yu He's heart softens, and at last she relents.

A blind woman and an ugly wife: they are a fitting pair, after all.

After they marry, her wife takes wonderful care of her, gentle and attentive in every way, gradually easing the knot in her heart.

But no one could have imagined that Yu He would suddenly regain her sight.

She hurries to find her ugly wife, only to see a woman with striking, exquisite features, so breathtakingly beautiful she seems almost otherworldly, step out of their bedroom and press herself affectionately against Yu He, softly calling her by her pet name.

That voice is exactly the same as her ugly wife's.

Yu He sees her speaking calmly, repeating the ordinary things she always used to say, her eyes filled with an undisguised, almost obsessive love.

Those heart-fluttering moments and accidental touches were all deliberate attempts to get close to her, as the woman watched her flustered and at a loss for what to do.

Her gentle, ugly wife has become a beautiful but utterly wicked bedmate.

Yu He can't believe it. She even thinks she must be dreaming, forcing herself to close her eyes and fall asleep, imagining that she'll wake from the dream.

But when she wakes, her wife is still beside her, one hand under her skirt, biting her lip as she tries to hold back, breathing heavily. When she sees Yu He open her eyes, she still coaxes her softly: “Good girl, go back to sleep for a little longer, okay?”
