As of September 20, 2026, 10,000 words have been drafted.
Click to read:
"Zeus Conceives a Child" (just kidding)
"Apollo, the Ultimate Ninja God" (for the heroine)
"A Guide to Growing Grapevines" (don't be fooled, they grow wild everywhere without fertilizer)
"The Ancient Greek God of Grape Juice" (this one is real: tangy and sweet. If it tastes bad, I'll give you my life)
A lighthearted story!
A new life gets dramatic from the start:
Before she was even born, Dioe heard her mother in this life mocking Hera and Zeus. Even after death, her mother's ghost still had a razor-sharp tongue.
-Wait, her mother had become a ghost. Where was she?
Semele floated in midair, cackling:
"Zeus, Zeus, who would've thought? You used me as a tool to give birth to your emotional power, and I used you as a tool to pass on my bloodline. The child you personally conceived in your thigh has already been switched out for my own bloodline, thanks to my prayers to Gaia!"
Dioe, who had divine power but wasn't related to Zeus by blood: 9, because she was totally shook.
Unexpectedly, once she was born, everyone seemed to treat her pretty well?
Apollo, a god of reason who was the natural opposite of emotional Dioe, endured the deafening noise of the wine god's instrument.
"You're Zeus's emotional power, and he needs you. But you're not of Zeus's bloodline, so Hera won't target you either."
"What about you, Apollo?"
Dionysus pointed at the grapevines crawling all over the Temple of Light and laughed smugly.
Did they climb all the way here by themselves?
God of reason, where is your own emotion?
.
Apollo was a god favored by fate, with the ability to foresee the future.
Though the prophecies he received were often nothing like what he expected:
He wanted to stay on Olympus, but fate made him wander.
The partner he imagined was gentle, virtuous, and understanding, but instead-
The tipsy girl giggled:
"Come on, let's have some fun~"
But he really did like her...
Apollo could only sigh and continue planting grapes in the Temple of Light with a cold expression.
The wine god who does whatever she wants vs. the somewhat patriarchal god of light who can't put his beliefs into practice
A Greek version of Sense and Sensibility? Actually, it's just what the title says.
The emotional god vs. the rational god
Note:
1. The wine god and god of light have switched genders, and they aren't related by blood.
Everyone in this story is unrelated by blood.
2. I respect the original myths, but have added my own details, which I'll explain in the author's notes. You can read this even if you haven't read the myths. There are many versions of Greek mythology, including versions mixed with Roman mythology, so please follow this story's logic and don't scrutinize it too closely.
3. I also had an idea for a story about the wine god and Ariadne in The Princess's Crown. I've saved the idea for later.
