The Empress Is a Straight Shooter (Alternate Ming Dynasty)

A lighthearted, sweet romance

A female lead who seems crazy but is actually normal vs. a male lead who seems normal but is actually completely unrestrained

AKA

An empress who thinks she's insane but is, by comparison, essentially an honest person vs. an emperor with an utterly unusual way of thinking

With a terminal illness, Kong Deyin transmigrates.

An imaginary era she'd never heard of,

A horrible family that treats women like food.

At that time, to prevent the relatives of the empress from gaining too much power,

The consorts of princes and imperial grandsons had already begun to be selected from among the common people;

But the backward custom of burying women alive with the dead was still widespread.

The women chosen for burial wept in despair,

While their living fathers and brothers were rewarded for having "chaste and virtuous women" in the family.

The original owner of the body died in a woodshed, burning with a high fever, because she didn't want to enter the palace.

Deyin: ...

I've suffered enough from being an honest person in my past life!

This time, I'd rather die together with my family than let them profit off my blood and sweat!

Not! A! Single! Bite!

So the girl, who had been fairly well-behaved, started acting crazy!

She wriggled and crawled through the Forbidden City, radiating a charming aura that was neither human nor ghost.

Her main goal was to drag her whole family down to hell with her.

But then...

The emperor currently sitting on the throne was even crazier than she was.

By comparison, she was actually an honest person, haha.

1v1, both leads are pure

Because the male lead has such a bizarre way of thinking, even this muddy world somehow feels refreshingly new.

Note:

1. The setting is inspired by the Ming dynasty, but this is not history. It's an imaginary era, and there will be changes, so please don't nitpick.

No character is based on a real person.

The author has researched some customs but isn't a professional, so please go easy on any historical inaccuracies in the setting.

2. The female lead will have one daughter at the end, and her daughter will ascend the throne.

But overall, this is a fairly lighthearted, sweet romance, since the male lead is written to love only the female lead.

3. There are all kinds of people, and everyone has many sides.
