The Mountain God's Bride

Xi Nan accidentally wandered into a sacred mountain, where a mountain bully caught her and tried to throw her into a pot to be boiled.

At the last possible moment, the mountain god descended from above, wearing an antelope mask, and cut off the bully's head with a single stroke of his sword.

Xi Nan struggled out of the pot and collapsed on the ground, looking up at the mountain god's antelope mask, still dripping with blood.

The mountain god looked down at her face.

After a moment, he tossed aside his broken sword and carefully wiped the blood from his fingers with his sleeve.

Then he held out a hand to her and asked curiously, "Are you the new bride they sent me?"

Xi Nan stared blankly, giving no response.

The mountain god thought she was frightened and was about to help call her soul back.

At last, Xi Nan, whose reactions were always incredibly slow, understood what he meant and shook her head repeatedly. "I'm not your bride. The person you just killed was."

The mountain god turned to look at the eight-foot-tall headless man on the ground, dressed from head to toe in wedding clothes, then looked back at Xi Nan's sincere eyes.

He fell silent for a moment.

Then he bent down and caressed her face fondly. "What gibberish are you talking about? You're the bride destined for me."
