Wu Yin transmigrated into a book and became the Crown Prince of the Demon Realm, a good-for-nothing who did nothing but cause trouble.
To follow the plot, he diligently played the villain, constantly clashing with Fu Zhenxue, the top disciple of the Immortal Sect and future leader of the Immortal Alliance. They fought whenever they met, each determined to kill the other. The entire cultivation world knew they were mortal enemies.
Then, during a secret-realm dungeon, they both got trapped inside. Their cultivation was suppressed so badly they couldn't even beat a common monster, leaving them no choice but to fend for themselves.
Even better, Fu Zhenxue had lost his memory.
Wu Yin's lazy nature took over. He had no intention of fending for himself, so he looked at the wary Fu Zhenxue and lied: "The two of us are Dao companions."
Fu Zhenxue was deeply suspicious, but whenever he saw Wu Yin, his heart raced with anger, just as before. In the end, half-believing the lie, he treated Wu Yin like royalty for years, doing all the laundry, cooking, and hunting. He wouldn't even let Wu Yin touch water.
When the secret realm crumbled, Wu Yin happily prepared to run away. But Fu Zhenxue regained his memory, and Wu Yin's secret identity was exposed on the spot.
There was no choice. He had to fake his death.
Wu Yin spat blood, tears streaming down his face. "I treated you so badly before only because I wanted to get your attention!"
Before he died, he saw Fu Zhenxue's reddened eyes and gave him an egg he'd picked up at random, claiming it was their child. He hoped that, after seeing how hard he'd worked to lay an egg, Fu Zhenxue wouldn't hate him.
Wu Yin faked his death, changed his secret identity, and planned to return to the Demon Realm to keep living as a lazy Crown Prince.
But in just a hundred years, his father had already given up the position of Demon Venerable to someone else!
That was his position!
Furious, Wu Yin grabbed his sword and charged into the main hall, intending to stab the bastard who'd stolen his place.
But when he pushed open the door, he saw Fu Zhenxue reading with a child in his arms.
Wu Yin: ...
Wait, what?! Wasn't Fu Zhenxue the leader of the Immortal Alliance? Why was he in the Demon Realm as its Demon Lord?
And how did they actually have a child? Wasn't that egg one he'd picked up?!

Fu Zhenxue hadn't believed Wu Yin's nonsense at first.
But every time he saw Wu Yin, his heart inexplicably beat faster, and even his fingertips grew hot.
So he believed him.
Later, he wanted to hold Wu Yin, kiss him. The things he wanted grew more numerous, as did the things he wanted to do. At last, he believed that he and Wu Yin truly loved each other.
Then he regained his memory. He and Wu Yin weren't Dao companions. They were enemies.
But he loved Wu Yin, so it didn't matter.
Yet Wu Yin abandoned him...
