An Ordinary Alley

Everyone in town says the soy milk from the Jiang family's tofu shop is delicious.

But Lu Zhaoxia thinks that even the warmest soy milk can't compare to the brief warmth of Jiang Wanyue's fingertips when she hands it to her.

One is a wild girl who travels the jianghu performing martial arts, with fists that cut through the air and a smile as bright as the sun.

The other is a quiet young woman who tends the tofu shop, with picture-perfect features and a heart as cool as frost.

A bowl of tofu pudding, sweet and delicate.

A pot of hangover soup, warming away the anxiety of a rainy night.

A dewy wild chrysanthemum, quietly blossoming in a rough pottery bowl, and in a heart no one had ever knocked on.

When autumn winds rose, she had to travel south with her father.

On the night before she left, Jiang Wanyue asked softly, "Will you come back?"

Lu Zhaoxia took her hand and grinned, showing two little tiger teeth.

"Wanyue, you're here. Where else would I go?"
