Aggressive Healing [Sentinel and Guide]

The sweet-faced young woman sat awkwardly across from him.

The interviewer folded his arms, his voice cool and detached. "Any special skills? The frontline squad doesn't recruit ordinary people."

The girl lowered her eyes to the tabletop. "I think I may have differentiated as a Guide..."

...A wild Guide?

Her childhood friend’s eyes lit up. He nudged the interviewer, Qin Zhou, with his elbow and quietly pleaded, "Wild Guides are rarer than pandas these days. Put the past behind you and let your ex-girlfriend join."

Qin Zhou expressionlessly removed his restraint bracelet and released his battered white wolf spirit form.

"You have five minutes. Give me a mental treatment."

Five minutes later.

Qin Zhou looked furious. "Are you getting back at me on purpose? What kind of Guide are you? You electrocuted me!"

Bai Xiao lifted her clear, innocent eyes and shook her head.

She really was a Guide. For a Sentinel like her ex, with problems from head to toe, she could cure anything.

She soothingly patted the white wolf's fur, every strand standing on end.

"The treatment went smoothly. See? You're cured."

As a rare healing-type Guide, she was exceptionally effective at treating Sentinels. There was just one side effect: it hurt.

Whoever she treated ended up in pain.

The little military medical room stood with its door open.

The entire frontline assault squad, from captain Qin Zhou to every other member, trudged into the medical room.

Afterward,

they came out looking dazed, stumbled out while leaning against the wall, or crawled out half-conscious...

No matter how severe the damage to their spirit forms, she could, could cure them all.

Qin Zhou: It hurts more every time she treats me. She's doing it on purpose.

Bai Xiao: My Guide rank went up. :)

[Reader's Guide]

1. An unconventional Sentinel-Guide setting, with plenty of original worldbuilding.

2. A lighthearted, sweet little stress-reliever. You can enjoy it even without knowing the Sentinel-Guide setting. Medium-short length.

3. More to come if I think of anything.
