1v1 silly, sweet, short story
Ji Ran's parents died when he was young.
But his neighbor, big brother Huo Chengzhou, took him in and raised him like the apple of his eye, turning him into a beautiful, spoiled little tyrant.
Huo Chengzhou was the one who attended parent-teacher meetings, the one called in when Ji Ran got into fights, and the one who sent him his living expenses on time every month.
Whenever Ji Ran frowned, Huo Chengzhou wondered if he'd done something wrong. If the little tyrant said his porridge was too hot, Huo Chengzhou would patiently blow on it until it cooled before handing it over.
Once he was an adult, Ji Ran acted on a mixture of childish impulse and curiosity, and ended up in bed with the man who'd looked after him for over a decade.
They spent a while having fun together, but Ji Ran soon got bored.
Huo Chengzhou was too quiet and too dull. All he ever did was keep an eye on Ji Ran or indulge him. They couldn't even manage to have a proper argument. Ji Ran hated how predictable their life was. It was no fun.
So Ji Ran broke up with him, booked a plane ticket, and went abroad in one smooth move.
Except the plane never took off.
A visa mishap forced Ji Ran to stay put and continue university, and he had no choice but to move back into Huo Chengzhou's house.
Having to eat and live with him every day, and grit his teeth to call him "big brother," made Ji Ran want to dig himself a three-bedroom apartment with his toes.
When it rains, it pours.
Less than a month into the new semester, Ji Ran lost most of his savings to a scammer. He was broke, with no money to throw around or pride to cling to.
Crouching on the living room rug, he picked at the wool cushion Huo Chengzhou had just bought him, trying to figure out how to ask his ex for living expenses. When he looked up, he noticed Huo Chengzhou's phone lit up on the coffee table.
Ji Ran glanced at it without thinking, and his breath caught.
It was a forum page. The title at the top read:
[Help] Can I still send my ex living expenses after we break up?
The top comment said: Seriously? Are you a simp or what?
Huo Chengzhou replied earnestly: "For some special reasons, I raised my ex, and we got together once he was an adult. Then, for some reason, he dumped me out of nowhere. But he's still in school. Can I keep sending him living expenses?"
A bystander marveled: "I've never seen a situation like this before, man... You're not even angry?"
In the chat box, Huo Chengzhou had typed out the last few lines, but still hadn't hit send.
Ji Ran could see them clearly:
"I'm angry. Angry enough to fuck him to death."
"So can someone tell me if I can still send my ex living expenses after we break up?"
Reader Advisory:
1. Six-year age gap, with a size difference.
2. They are not on the same household register and are not related by blood.
3. There was no misunderstanding behind their breakup. It's just part of their bedroom games.
