Funa is reborn in another world after dying, only to discover that she has become a member of a race that lives underground.
Resources are scarce underground, and her people are content with their simple lives. Their daily routine consists of eating bugs.
Determined not to still be eating bugs when she grows up, Funa starts planning how to find new resources and lead her people to prosperity, even though she is still a tiny toddler.
...Come to think of it, why are the bugs so huge?
...And now that she's reached the surface, why are the pigeons so huge too? Even when she stands up straight, she's not as tall as a human's heel?
Did she transmigrate into a mole goblin?!
In the midst of her panic, an accident forces her entire tribe to move. Funa hears her mother say they'll have to relocate to a place where their distant relatives live.
It's over. They'll have to live under someone else's roof.
...Why are these distant relatives so beautiful, twenty times her height, with pointed ears and magic? Are they children of the forest?
...And why is there an elf queen here?!
Funa: Mom, does that mean I'm an elf too?

"As the youngest child of the entire Rock Crystal Elf tribe, a subrace of elves, Funa Rock Crystal displayed an astonishing gift for magic and a diligent nature from an early age. By the time she was six, her magical skills had surpassed those of elves a hundred years old. She went to study at the Academy of Magic, and her entire tribe relocated to the school to accompany her... Master Funa, as a long-lived race, why are you so diligent and hardworking? Is it because you love magic?"
Funa: "..."
That's one reason, sure. But more importantly, when I was so touched that my whole family had come with me to school, I asked the clan leader if all Rock Crystal Elves were this doting toward their young...
The clan leader told me that there were only a little over a hundred of us in the entire Rock Crystal Elf tribe.
After a lifetime away, I've come back as a critically endangered species!
I have no choice but to work myself to the bone learning magic!
