A 10-Billion Budget [Tycoon]

Xia Meng watched a terrible movie and got approached by a System after complaining, "My dog could make a better movie than you guys."

[Become an outstanding director!]

The Director System is an encouraging type of system. Its specialties are writing reports and applying for funding.

It immediately reassured Xia Meng not to be nervous, because the final review wouldn't happen for another hundred years.

Ah... I get it!

Xia Meng: "I might need to stay in the presidential suite of a five-star hotel for a year to make this movie...?"

System: "That's called patiently honing your craft!"

Twenty million in funding approved.

Xia Meng: "Then, to film the extravagant lives of wealthy families, I'll need to travel everywhere and eat lavish meals!"

System: "That's called striving for perfection and drawing on real life. Great!"

One hundred million in funding approved.

Xia Meng: "What if I want to make a big-budget sci-fi movie with special effects about future technology...?"

The System considered it: Special effects... why not just build the real thing? You'll need to invest in a robotics lab first. Looks like we'll have to apply for another ten billion in funding!

Xia Meng: System, my beloved! #PrayingHands

Later.

The System watched its Host live in luxury, barely ever visit the set despite being a director, and spend all her time "gathering material" or on her way to gather material. It finally came to its senses when the Host made the rich list...

Wait a minute. Were you just trying to scam investment money all along, Host?

Xia Meng: Was I? Look at this S-rated movie. I helped cast the male and female leads, didn't I? And I completed every task you gave me perfectly, right?

I only spent a tiny bit of money!

A coal-boss-style figure entered the entertainment industry: all she wanted was the title of director. She insisted on casting handsome men and beautiful women as leads to raise the industry's average attractiveness, and happily invested in any project. When she was in a good mood, she'd add another zero to the amount she wired.

The entertainment industry's changed!

The era of movies and TV shows flourishing in every style has returned once again!
