Back to When My Cold Wife Was Young

Ning Yu had never known much hardship. Her parents had spoiled her as a child, and when she grew up, Chen Qing treasured her like the most precious thing in the world.

Ning Yu was very satisfied with the wife she had fallen in love with at first sight and then taken by force. Her only complaint was that Chen Qing was a woman of few words.

Whatever she did, she just put her head down and got on with it.

So when Ning Yu unexpectedly returned to her youth, her first thought was to find Chen Qing and teach her how to say sweet things.

But when she found her, her wife, who had once held all of the capital in the palm of her hand, was in rags, covered in blood, kneeling on the ground as people held her down and beat her.

Ning Yu was furious. Like a young calf charging forward, she shouted, "Who dares lay a hand on her!"

Only after living through it all again did Ning Yu learn that Chen Qing had been so hungry as a child she often had nothing to eat. She'd been beaten and cursed at regularly, and was so poor she couldn't even go to school.

Damn them all! No wonder Chen Qing had become a woman of few words!

Heartbroken, Ning Yu said angrily, "If anyone tries to bully you from now on, tell me! Do you hear me?"

Chen Qing gazed intently at the girl's rosy, beautiful lips and softly hummed in agreement.

From then on, everyone saw a beautiful, fiery girl by the side of the strange, quiet Chen Qing.

Chen Qing thought her life was worthless and had nothing left to look forward to.

Until that day, when she opened her eyes amid blood and grime and met her moon.

Ning Yu spent five years training Chen Qing and finally got the results she wanted.

The moment they got into the car, the business world's aloof rising star pulled her little wife onto her lap. Ning Yu was every bit the elegant, high-and-mighty beauty as she asked, "When you see me after work, what should you say first?"

Chen Qing leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Wife, I missed you."
