Does Madam Still Want a Divorce Today?

As a cherished young heiress, Xu Qingrou never imagined she'd have to honor a marriage contract arranged by her elders and marry a scrawny bumpkin from the countryside!

To make matters worse, that bumpkin, Shen Cen, was a woman!

How could one woman marry another?

She cried, threw tantrums, and threatened to hang herself, but in the end she was forced to marry Shen Cen and became the laughingstock of everyone around them.

After the wedding, she made life difficult for Shen Cen in every way, causing one scene after another in the hope that Shen Cen would agree to divorce her.

"Don't sleep in the same bed as me. Sleep on the floor."

"You have to wash my clothes by hand! If you don't, we're getting a divorce!"

"My consort has to be the top scholar in the capital! I don't like uncultured bumpkins like you!"

Shen Cen merely listened in silence.

Everyone said that Shen Cen put up with Xu Qingrou's abuse without agreeing to a divorce because she wanted money and power!

In the first year of their marriage, Xu Qingrou demanded a divorce, and Shen Cen quietly spent the whole year washing her clothes.

In the second year, Xu Qingrou demanded a divorce, and Shen Cen quietly passed the imperial examination and became the top scholar.

In the third year, the Xu family fell into decline and lost all its former glory.

Everyone speculated that this time, they would surely divorce!

Xu Qingrou clutched the new Commander of the Embroidered Guards by the chest. "Didn't I tell you to be careful? Why are you hurt again? I... I'm divorcing you!"

"I know I was wrong."

The cold, distant commander held his little wife tighter. "I'll be more careful from now on. Don't divorce me, okay?"

Xu Qingrou spent her whole life shouting that she wanted a divorce, yet every night she had to curl up in Shen Cen's arms to fall asleep.

Shen Cen spent a whole lifetime hearing Xu Qingrou demand a divorce, and only silently held her tighter and tighter. By the time Xu Qingrou came to her senses, she had long since lost any chance of escape.
