The Ghost Wife

The protagonist is a little blind girl from the village who has no father or mother. She has been bullied ever since she was small, and is thin, frail, and pitiful.

There is a water ghost around these parts. They say it kills someone every year. Eventually, the villagers invited a master, who said that they had to sacrifice a pretty little girl in the pond to enjoy temporary peace.

And so the protagonist became the sacrifice they sent away.

That night, they tied rocks to her ankles and sank her into the river.

She thought she was going to drown, but in a daze, she fell into an icy embrace. Shivering from the cold, she burrowed desperately into the woman's arms and softly called her "Big Sister."

The icy embrace stiffened for a moment, and the protagonist heard someone give a quiet hum.

A pampered, beautiful young lady transferred to one of the top high schools in the city center. Quite a few people had secret crushes on her, and some even handed her love letters.

But everyone who gave her a love letter eventually suffered all sorts of misfortune. Those who talked badly about her behind her back had it easy if they only fell and broke a bone; at worst, they got into car accidents.

Still, there were people who refused to believe the rumors and wanted to pursue the protagonist.

Then, one dark and windy night, someone accidentally spotted her sitting by the swimming pool. A mass of black shadow suddenly surged up from the water, wrapping itself around her entire body.

The protagonist kept letting out soft whimpers as she was kissed, then finally slumped helplessly against the shadow's shoulder. "Big Sister, don't be mad."

"I'll only let you kiss me."
