A Nineteenth-Century Lady Detective

Description:

Luo Ya stayed up reading a novel until four in the morning. When she opened her eyes again, she was in the nineteenth century.

She found herself in a sealed library, lying on the floor with a silver dagger in her hand. Blood was spattered all around her, and a clear slash marked her throat. It seemed her original body had been killed by having its throat cut.

Luo Xiya Weaver, who had just absorbed the memories of her transmigration: ...

What is this, a locked-room murder mystery with a dead woman in the library? Miss Marple, help me!

Her original self was a third-rate detective on the verge of going hungry. Determined to uncover the truth and avenge her, as well as stay alive, Luo Xiya took over the detective business. By day, she helped the neighbors find cats and deal with dogs; by night, she followed barons to their secret trysts.

As she roamed the streets and alleys of Luren, Luo Xiya discovered that this world had another side: bizarre, fantastical, and uncanny.

Buildings lay in silent gloom beneath the city's fading light. Amid the roar of steam trains, cries of agony seemed to echo. The night bells carried whispered murmurs, and man-eaters in the sewers followed her like shadows... Storms gathered, and thick fog rolled in.

The supernatural, secret societies, astrology, mysteries, strange phenomena, curses, investigators, hunters...

Luo Xiya moved between reality and shadow, searching for the truth of the world.

An alternate-history nineteenth-century fantasy, steampunk, and occult tale.
