The Strange Apartment

The Bizarre Apartment / Running an Apartment in Another World Blurb: After taking early retirement, Luo Wei took over the four-story apartment building her family had left behind. It had only eighteen rooms, and its old decor made it unfit to live in. She and her boyfriend redesigned and renovated the rooms one by one: one would have a royal princess theme, another a Western fantasy magic theme, one would be a traditional Chinese-style retreat, and another a haunted house theme. They were determined to create a one-of-a-kind themed apartment and named it the Bizarre Apartment, hoping to make it a viral sensation. But when the apartment opened, the flood of visitors she'd imagined never came. Instead, it attracted one strange resident after another. A sword-wielding man with his hair tied up, often standing with his hands behind his back in Taoist robes; a young woman who always wore a cloak covering half her face, holding a staff and muttering incantations; a dwarf who came up to her waist, insisted he was 180 years old, and drank three jin of liquor every day; and a weathered middle-aged man with a peachwood sword, yellow talismans, and a gourd full of chicken blood hanging from him... Luo Wei sat at the front desk on the first floor every day. A little strange, but not that strange. As long as they paid on time, they were good tenants! Whether they were Y2K or cosplayers, she didn't mind. But at some point, the tenants started getting to know each other. They often gathered in a corner of the lobby, whispering to each other and saying strange things. "That Flame Demon Dragon from your place tastes pretty good. Catch another one for the apartment's communal meal, will you?" "Why not head to Sword Lord's little realm and find a Culinary Cultivator?" "Where did Daoist Lin's zombie go?" "Should we ask the landlady for help?" Theme: No matter where you come from, once you're here, you're Chinese!
