Is It Really Okay to Get Along with My Childhood Friend Like This?

[Is there something wrong with how I get along with my childhood friend?]

Original poster: As the title says, I'm a guy, and I have a childhood friend I've known since we were little. We have a great relationship and have never been apart. We know all of each other's secrets. Nobody said anything for all these years, but recently someone told me there's something wrong with the way we get along. So I want to ask everyone: is there really a problem?

Original poster: Here's the thing. I was premature, so I've always been in poor health. My childhood friend always carries two umbrellas, a thermos of hot water, and the medicine I take regularly in his backpack.

Because of my health, I'm the kind of person who wants to eat everything even though I can't handle it. So whenever I can't finish something, my childhood friend eats it for me. He thinks food from outside isn't healthy, so he taught himself to cook for over ten years just so he could recreate the taste of my favorite takeout.

My childhood friend has always done my laundry, too. He thinks the maid won't take good care of it. He does throw away a few of my clothes every year, but that's only because they've ripped and he takes them out to toss them. (Whispering: Actually, I accidentally found some of the clothes he said he'd thrown away in his wardrobe. He said he must have gotten mixed up. Haha, even he can be absent-minded sometimes. I've written down this embarrassing moment of his.)

Most importantly, he always knows what I want right away. Whenever I'm in trouble, he's the first one to show up. No matter where I am, he can always find me right away. Hahaha, maybe this is the purest kind of brotherly love, a real meeting of minds.

Well, that's basically it. Isn't this just how good friends normally get along? And we're childhood friends on top of that!
