The Magical Girl Is Depressed

From the moment she learned her technique was that of a magical girl, Kong Yingzi swore that she would never let anyone discover who she was after dark.

After all: "I'd rather die than loudly recite 'Heart Donut, Sparkling Light Wave, Lovelove Blueberry Cake' in front of other people."

She'd die. She'd die a social death.

She'd die. She'd end up killing anyone who saw her transform.

But the more you insist something won't happen, the more likely it is to happen.

Heaven knows why everything went off the rails once she started middle school.

First, Midorima Shintaro, why do you have to gaze at the stars at night? Horoscopes aren't asking you to become a fortune-teller.

And then there's Akashi Seijuro. How do you keep getting kidnapped?

If you knew my technique was that of a magical girl, you'd be pretty upset, too.

The first-year class at Tokyo Jujutsu High had a quiet, unremarkable student.

Her hand-to-hand combat was average, her grades were average, she didn't like to talk or mingle, and she even went on missions alone. Sometimes she would look at them with a gloomy stare.

A certain young master Gojo and a slant-banged Pokemon Master secretly observed her. They eventually concluded that she was just a shy, gloomy person.

Their curiosity faded, and before long, they stopped paying attention to her.

It wasn't until they were forced to go on a mission together that they learned their classmate's true nature.

A certain Gojo: "So, you go on missions alone because..."

"I absolutely don't want anyone to see me transform. It's too embarrassing."

A certain slant-bang: "So that gloomy stare was..."

"Envy! I was jealous that you guys have such cool techniques!"

Finally, a certain nurse pointed out the most important thing. "So, could you do that again? The magical girl transformation."

Kong Yingzi could take no more and flipped the table. "All of you with your cool, normal techniques, get out!"
