The Siamese Cat in the Golden Cage

[Maid x Ambitious schemer]

Bai Jiaojiao only wants to live a quiet life at the Qi household, doing the work she's supposed to do. By chance, the fourth young master of the Qi family, Qi Shaoyun, transfers her to his room to serve him. By day, she pours tea, runs errands, and cleans; by night, they share intimate pleasures.

Bai Jiaojiao is best at reading the room and observing propriety, always keeping her place and quietly waiting for the day she's cast aside.

She thinks this is the unspoken rule of the game between adults: part on good terms, with no strings attached.

In the end, Qi Shaoyun takes her with him when he's expelled from the Qi household.

What a huge misunderstanding.

She never took Qi Shaoyun seriously in the first place.

Qi Shaoyun is pleased with how obedient Bai Jiaojiao seems.

But he also resents her cold heart and clear-headedness, how readily she can call it quits.

"Some little white rabbits just can't be tamed."
