The ticket is a QR code, the conductor has no face, and every stop announced over the speaker is gibberish. As an excellent (former) rule-follower, she calmly takes out her phone. “Can I scan this?” The System crashes. Worse (or perhaps more wonderful), it seems she’s caught the attention of some terrifying “thing.” It’s a languid-looking figure with golden hair and purple eyes, who loves to chuckle with delight whenever the rules fall into chaos and calls her an “interesting toy.” Wang Xu only wants to live a peaceful life, cat ears included. She ends up in a strange place called the Hall of Myriad Forms, where she’s forced to take part in one absurd instance after another: growing cat ears in a library where speaking is forbidden, facing off against “delight” AI in a psychiatric ward, and battling “Mom” in a looping beginner’s village... The golden-haired troublemaker always appears when she’s at her most miserable, then nonchalantly offers her a lifeline just as she’s about to give up. As her powers and memories gradually awaken, Wang Xu realizes that the troublemaker may be the lover she crossed life and death, and lost everything, just to reunite with. Wang Xu sighs and rubs her impossible-to-hide cat ears. It looks like this “retirement” is destined to be spent alongside a certain troublemaker, turning the game board upside down, beating up bosses, and falling in love along the way.
