To the End of the Light

[Content Warnings]

1. A shou-centered healing story. The shou, Lin Xiyan, has severe depression and a tendency to self-harm. He is in a bad place at the start, and is sensitive and insecure.

2. The gong, Jiang Yibai, is aloof and sharp-tongued in public, but clingy and direct in private. He has a serious double standard.

3. The romance is a slow burn. At first, the shou avoids and withdraws while the gong presses forward relentlessly. There is a lot of introspection.

4. Includes realistic, difficult themes such as school bullying and an absent family, with a gradual healing process.

5. No physical abuse or groveling-after-a-breakup arc. The story is warm and healing overall, though the early chapters are rather heavy.

6. No real-life models. This is not a gong stan story.

Jiang Yibai, the top student in his grade, is an untouchable beauty on campus, aloof, outstanding, and unreachable. Lin Xiyan, quiet and reserved, is like a forgotten speck of dust, living alone in a gloomy corner and bearing a heavy past that was never his to carry.

Perceptive, seductive gong x lonely, lost shou

One chance glance was all it took for Jiang Yibai to notice the boy who was always alone, his eyes like those of a lost fawn. He didn't understand what love was, but instinctively wanted to get closer and pull him out of the icy abyss. And so the top student began his "Plan to Raise Lin Xiyan": with clumsy, straightforward affection, casually closing the distance between them, and acting clingy and sweet only with him, he slowly pried open Lin Xiyan's tightly shut heart.

"The meaning of love has always been an unsolvable riddle to me," Lin Xiyan once said, lost in confusion.

"Maybe the answer is right here," Jiang Yibai replied through his actions.

Jiang Yibai didn't run from the abyss. He clumsily jumped in, took Lin Xiyan by the hand, and walked with him step by step toward the light, staying by his side as they "Follow the Light to Its End."
