When Jiang Zeyou fell from a high-rise, thinking his life was over, death did not come. Instead, he was bound to a System called "Light of Redemption." The System gave him a new mission: transmigrate to different worlds and heal the "targets," whose souls were shattered and lost in darkness. Succeed, and he lives. Fail, and he dies.
The first target he met was named Yun Yeyin.
At their first meeting, Yun Yeyin was an elegant, gentle client seeking psychological counseling. He calmly confessed to wanting to "lock someone up," and saw right through the "fragility" Jiang Zeyou tried so hard to hide. Jiang Zeyou put on a brave face, but alarm bells were ringing inside him. He tried to handle the situation with his professional knowledge, only to discover that his meager practical experience was no match for Yun Yeyin's eyes, which seemed able to see straight into his soul.
One counseling session after another, one step closer each time. Jiang Zeyou saw the obsession hidden beneath Yun Yeyin's perfect facade, the loneliness born of deep trauma, and his extraordinary, destructive fixation on him. Even more unsettling, Yun Yeyin seemed to sense that something was "wrong" with him, probing in conversation about "reincarnation" and the possibility of "different worlds."
The System coldly warned him that he was straying from the mission, and used its punishment mechanism to force his words and actions. Yun Yeyin, meanwhile, used even more sophisticated methods to draw him into a trap called "cooperation," tightening the invisible cage around him.
Then, one day, Jiang Zeyou took a fatal attack meant for Yun Yeyin. As his consciousness faded, the last thing he saw was Yun Yeyin's eyes, shattering in an instant, then freezing over, before finally igniting with madness.
Mission failed. World reset.
Carrying the memory of his death, Jiang Zeyou returned to the starting point. To his horror, Yun Yeyin seemed to have kept his memories of the previous run too, and had laid an even deeper trap behind an even more perfect disguise. Testing, maneuvering, drawing closer... When danger struck again, Jiang Zeyou followed his heart and once more threw himself in front of Yun Yeyin.
The redemption promised by the System ultimately led to uncontrollable madness. The so-called healing mission was nothing more than a journey "off the rails," overturning fate.
