Can I Pet Your Cat?

When the neighbor's renovations became unbearable, Shi Sui, a socially anxious comic artist with zero social skills, had two options: go over and confront them, or condemn them in the residents' group chat. Cowardly, she chose a third.

She moved.

Her new neighbor was a strange man.

Whenever he went out, he wore a mask and a baseball cap, covering himself from head to toe. All that showed was a pair of beautiful, deep, peach-blossom eyes, so striking they made her heart skip a beat. His eyelids drooped lazily, and even when he looked at a dog, he seemed to gaze at it with deep affection.

Sometimes they rode the elevator together late at night. He would be on the phone as he left, and loud music would roar from the other end. Shi Sui would face the wall and pretend she was dead, while catching the pleasant scent of his cologne.

Putting together his nocturnal schedule and his zombie-like state when he came home, Shi Sui finally understood.

This was the blissful life of a male model!

When her ongoing comic hit a creative block, Shi Sui, a complete beginner, had no choice but to knock on her neighbor's door to ask for reference material. Head bowed, she cautiously asked,

"Dear Mr. Neighbor, can I hire you at home?"

The man had just taken a shower. His hair was damp, and he leaned lazily against the doorframe, staring at her expressionlessly for a few seconds before saying her name with perfect precision.

In an unhurried voice, he asked, "You dare hire a male model, but you can't look up?"

Shi Sui looked up in confusion and saw the handsome face she often saw on the big screen: Shen Luye, the hugely popular top-tier star.

He was also her former high school deskmate.

Shi Sui: "..."

Help! I hired a male model and it turned out to be my high school classmate!
