Bourbon's perspective:

In his previous life, Officer Furuya retired in glory after a distinguished career. Sadly, his four closest friends had died too young. On the day he passed away in his old age, he thought, I can't even remember what their faces looked like anymore.

Then he closed his eyes and opened them again. He was reborn.

His four friends were still alive. More importantly, his childhood friend Hiro hadn't gone undercover in the Black Organization this time around. He was still working safely as a Public Security police officer.

He should have been relieved, but when he saw what had happened to himself, his vision went black. The Black Organization had used him as a Silver Bullet test subject since childhood, and he had unlocked the achievement of becoming an undercover agent without the inconvenience of actually going undercover.

The world's timeline told him this was a recently popular rescue setup: the four-man Police Academy group doting on one person, a Black Organization test subject, and a sickly debuff.

After taking APTX for so long, Bourbon had successfully acquired two popular traits: sickly debuff and Black Organization test subject. But why was it so hard to get the four-man Police Academy group to dote on him? Why were they so wary of strangers?

Officer Furuya decided it didn't matter. As long as he could save his friends, and confess to his childhood friend, that was enough.

But when he first met his childhood friend, his debuffs included a shrunken body, blindness, deafness, and muteness. The next time they met, he was blind and mute, and running a high fever.

Bourbon: How am I supposed to make any progress with this romance?

Officer Morofushi's perspective:

I once had a Siamese cat. He followed me home looking terribly pitiful, so I took care of him for a long time. Then someone took him away.

One day, he came back covered in wounds, meowing as he told me things I didn't want to hear, like how he could save everyone on his own and I didn't need to worry about him.

So I kidnapped him and hid him away. That way, he wouldn't ever leave me again, right?

Matsuda's perspective:

Ever since he was little, Jinpei Matsuda had an AI app on his phone that was far more advanced than the technology of the time. It was called hagi.

The app grew up with him, teaching him how to live, how to fight, and how to take care of himself and his dad.

As a child, Jinpei Matsuda thought everyone had a virtual companion. It was only when he grew up that he learned he was the only one.

So the practical Jinpei Matsuda decided to build a body for his virtual friend. With this in mind, he started studying mechanics day after day, and naturally ended up studying bombs, too.

Jinpei Matsuda: "I'm going to give you a body! Just you wait!"

hagi: "Um... Jinpei... Actually, I..."

Jinpei Matsuda came running over happily, carrying an ugly body he'd built, only for his own digital assistant to turn him down.

At 22, Jinpei Matsuda became a police officer. A bouquet of flowers arrived to congratulate him on graduating.

At 23, Jinpei Matsuda successfully completed his first mission. A handy toolbox arrived in the mail, congratulating him on becoming a real police officer.

Then, when Jinpei Matsuda was 26, he met an elegant man with graying hair at his temples for the first time. As they disarmed a bomb, he decisively got onto the Ferris wheel with him.

"Hello, my name is hagi. Or you can call me Kenji Hagiwara."

Kenji Hagiwara's perspective:

After dying in the line of duty on November 7, bomb disposal officer Kenji Hagiwara should have died right away. But his will to survive was so strong that he was forced to transmigrate into the body of a certain Black Organization BOSS, whose will to survive was just as strong.

Kenji Hagiwara had landed in a hellish situation from the start: his body was aging, and only his brain was still capable of thought.

No problem. hagi was very cheerful.

With help from the System, he successfully bound his thoughts to his beloved childhood friend's phone.

His childhood friend grew up, so he sent him a bouquet of flowers. His childhood friend graduated, so he sent him a model kit.

That was how Jinpei Matsuda mistook him for an AI and decided to build him a body.

He didn't want to admit it, but it was so ugly.

Kenji Hagiwara had to fight all kinds of fiends in the organization while also rehabilitating his aging body.

Later, after saving Jinpei, little Morofushi, little Furuya, and a whole host of others, he finally turned back time and regained his original body and age.
