The Perfect Vessel for Pregnancy

A hyper-advanced alien civilization raced across the vast, empty universe, and finally found on Earth the perfect hosts to carry their offspring:

Human males.

In exchange, they offered to save Earth after its nuclear catastrophe.

"We will rescue, protect, and preserve everything on Earth, including humanity. All we ask is that you provide the perfect gestational hosts."

This was a great bargain, so every host would receive the most meticulous care.

Even so, due to the barrier between species, no matter how strong a host was, childbirth always left them with uncontrollable aftereffects.

Tentacles might emerge from their stomachs, their hands and feet might turn into sticky, jointed limbs, writhing eyeballs might frequently ooze from their lower bodies, and mental hallucinations could bring on suicidal impulses.

At first, no one could treat these aftereffects of childbirth.

So even with the federal government offering the highest possible rewards, human males remained terrified. The number of volunteers kept falling, panic spread, and a new crisis seemed poised to erupt.

Until Yuan Lin appeared.

Yuan Lin, a dual PhD in genetics and biology, a medical genius, an honorary ambassador to the alien species, the only senior researcher in the world able to effectively treat the aftereffects of interspecies childbirth, and the light of hope for humanity's survival.

Her arrival put every man's fears to rest. In fact, over 98 percent of the cured hosts were willing to return to the gestation islands and continue contributing what they could.

"Professor Yuan gave us courage! She gave humanity courage!" A cured host stood before the media cameras, flushed and raising both hands as he excitedly declared to the world, "With her here, childbirth is like getting bitten by a mosquito. There's absolutely no need to worry about side effects!"

"This is a glorious cause that can make a great contribution to two planets! I hope every man will step forward and take responsibility for himself, his family, and all of humanity!"

The Federation was in an uproar! With the media rolling out a new rewards policy at just the right time, volunteer applications for gestation skyrocketed!

But in the dead of night, inside a sealed laboratory where no one could see,

Yuan Lin lounged lazily on a sofa as several enormous, crimson clawed legs extended from her waist. She drew a few satisfied circles on the map of Earth spread out in front of her.

The cold, inorganic light reflected in the four pupils inside her eye sockets, tinting them a dark gray. She smiled as she showed her alien companion clinging to the ceiling.

"Look, these are the new gestation islands that will soon be completed. Our children will receive the richest, most perfect maternal energy."

"We will never go extinct."
