A Nineteenth-Century Kitchen Maid

One cold winter, Winnie, a young maid who had been ostracized, moved with her young master, who had been cast out by his family, to a small estate in a certain county.

Her young master drank himself into oblivion and stayed cooped up in his room, depressed and never going outside. Winnie, meanwhile, planted a black cherry tree full of hope, looking forward to making a jar of jam the following year.

Later, she opened her first little workshop.

Later still, she had many workshops, and Winnie's fruit products were sold all across the country.
