Chen Fei's Water Tomb

In 1989, a survey team from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts ventured deep into the deserts around Dunhuang, Gansu, to search for the legendary remains of an ancient tomb. More than ten students died mysteriously. The truth was quietly buried, and no one mentioned it again.

In 2010, eighteen-year-old He Ziyi opens a notebook among her parents' belongings. It contains a vague record of their long-buried desert experience.

She never met her parents. They both died shortly after she was born, and her family treats the subject as taboo.

During the summer after the college entrance exams, armed with the faint clues in the notebook, she boards a train heading west alone, determined to uncover the story of her parents' past.

Just as she arrives in Dunhuang, she is kidnapped. Her kidnappers show her a photograph of her parents. “Don't you want to know how they really died?”

Legend has it that Emperor Xiaozong of Song built a water tomb for his beloved consort, Lady Chen. Inside the tomb is a water elixir. According to a secret text, the water elixir can bring ordinary people back to life.

When the sky clears on the fourth day, rain turns on the fifth; ride the tomb boat to become an immortal.

At the sixth star, the seventh pearl, sit on the cloud terrace and be reborn.

She is forced to join the search for the tomb, and by a twist of fate, meets a mysterious team.
