"All I did was write a fair, impartial, and open report," she sighed, gazing into her empty purse. "Where's the silver you promised me?"

Not only did she fail to secure a permanent position, she was also hunted down. While fleeing, she happened to pick up a badly wounded man from the roadside.

1. The setting is fictional, with plenty of original worldbuilding. The protagonists live in an economically advanced dynasty with open-minded values, imported goods, and foreign languages.

2. News gatherers existed as far back as the Song dynasty, along with tabloids that spread news and gossip from the court and beyond.

3. A light comedy! Both leads are sexually inexperienced, happy ending. The male lead's name is Jiang Sheng (xǐng).
