Can Even an Ordinary Office Worker Be Coveted?

The cover character cards were all commissioned individually. My first novel wasn't very well written: the ideas jumped all over the place, and I didn't plan it out properly. The writing style doesn't feel consistent from beginning to end, and the story kept veering off course. The more I write now, the more I notice how many shortcomings the earlier chapters have. Please think carefully before jumping in, and bear with me. Coming soon to my author page: please add these to your reading list: The Bullying Victim Who Pretends to Be Tough, Cloud Spectators Choose to Cling to the Protagonist Group, and The Beautiful Married Woman. Gu Qingyan transmigrates into a shonen manga about the arrival of the uncanny. In the manga, the young male protagonist awakens supernatural abilities and joins his companions in fighting the uncanny in the Inner World to protect the world. But none of that has anything to do with Gu Qingyan. After transmigrating, he's just an ordinary overworked office drone. Every day, he has to obey his fussy, annoying boss and deal with clients who like to harass him. That's more than enough to wear him out. Gu Qingyan has no energy left to think about saving the world. He's just an insignificant passerby. Everything changes when his friend turns into an uncanny being. Then the eerie tentacles that had been lurking in the shadows, coveting him for ages, wrap tightly around him. The pain he expected never comes. Instead, the pointed horns reach toward an unspeakable place. At the same time, an unknown whisper rings in his mind. The uncanny beings call to him softly: “Mommy.” That's how Gu Qingyan meets the protagonist group: dangling in midair, bound up, with a restrained flush of pink showing at every joint. Awkward, humiliating, and intensely erotic. So much so that every time the protagonist group sees him, they blush and lose their bearings. After that, Gu Qingyan is forced into the Inner World where the protagonists live, and his life changes completely. The one who's been following him for ages isn't human. He hides his head beneath an umbrella and appears in black whenever it rains. He claims to be Gu Qingyan's protector. His longtime friend's contamination level is so high that he's constantly on the verge of transforming. Only by Gu Qingyan's side can he keep his sanity. The good “comrade-in-arms” who just went through life and death with him is a candidate uncanny being with calamity-level transformation potential, and there's now a second personality living inside his body. For some reason... he's frighteningly attractive not only to humans and ability users, but even the uncanny beings are fighting over who gets to ravish him? [Please note before reading] 1. Pretty little bottom x handsome top. It's all about the petite bottom and big top, with plenty of size differences between tops and bottoms. For other points you might want to know, skip straight to the author's note in Chapter 1. 2. The bottom has a growth arc and gets stronger, but he won't have to suffer for it. His golden finger is fully unlocked, and he's very overpowered. 3. The worldbuilding takes some inspiration from Korean infinite-loop comics 😋 I love this kind of setup, and there aren't many Chinese novels like it, so I made one myself. 4. The combat system, worldbuilding, and other background details won't hold up to close scrutiny. Sorry, lore detectives. At heart, this is just a guilty-pleasure story about showing off in front of everyone. Coming soon to my author page: Cloud Spectators Choose to Cling to the Protagonist Group Liu Yu has always been out of step with the times, refusing to like anything that's popular. When the school-based supernatural battle manga The End became a huge hit, he refused to follow the trend and watch it. But the series was so popular that he kept seeing clips of it, and ended up becoming a cloud spectator against his will. Liu Yu only knows what the characters look like and roughly what their abilities are. He doesn't even know who the protagonist is. Somehow, he transmigrates into this school-based supernatural anime as a classmate of the protagonist. Worlds with supernatural abilities tend to be very dangerous, so Liu Yu decides to cling to the protagonist group's coattails. The protagonist group is bound to survive to the end. He can't go wrong by sticking with them! But here's the question: who exactly is the protagonist? * Liu Yu makes a rough list of the characters he remembers: 1. A taciturn, aloof cool guy with mysterious, powerful abilities who looks like he's hiding a lot. 2. A cheerful big guy who loves wearing ancient-style clothes and has a high ponytail, as if he's from a different era than everyone else. 3. An ice-type beauty who seems expressionless but is actually shy and timid, and enrolled to search for her missing brother. 4. A super battle maniac who can both dish it out and take it, with an incredibly solid build. 5. A reclusive master who seems to have been officially declared the strongest, but is disliked by ability users for reasons they don't know, and spends all day doing nothing. None of them fit the familiar, classic shonen protagonist mold, so Liu Yu guesses the anime must be taking an unconventional approach. In the end, he turns his attention to the person in the corner: A timid, cowardly, gloomy black-haired guy who's a complete good-for-nothing! This guy has to be the protagonist with a dragon-warrior comeback story! The others fit the role of popular supporting characters too perfectly. A coming-of-age character like this is what shonen authors truly love! Full of confidence, Liu Yu latches onto the guy and sets out to become the protagonist's right-hand man. To help the protagonist group come together and grow faster, Liu Yu buzzes around like a little bee, connecting the familiar faces and helping them build friendships so they can become one big, loving family. But he forgets one thing: Aside from the classic heroic kind, a small number of shonen manga belong to the dark subgenre. By the time Liu Yu realizes this, the protagonist group has already been torn apart, and their fates are unknown. And the black-haired boy he'd decided was “the protagonist,” missing for ages, has completely changed. He stands at the very front of the villains' ranks, gazing at Liu Yu with a feverish, yearning look: “A-Yu, come over to my side.” * In a world where most people are ordinary, anyone with supernatural abilities is seen as a monster, an outcast. The ability academy is where these monsters are contained. So on the first day of school, Liu Yu greets every classmate like a social butterfly and adds them all as friends. Bright and cheerful beyond belief, with light always in his eyes, he darts between people like a puppy wagging its tail nonstop. That makes him a very unusual presence. Brilliant and dazzling, he's impossible to resist: The indifferent smile only for him. The outwardly warm but inwardly cold one gives their heart only to him. The taciturn one can't help talking more when he's with him. The one who seems to hate everyone equally treats him as the sole exception. The one who long ago made peace with everything and stopped caring develops an intense possessiveness toward him. [A few things to know] 1. Puppyfication 😋 A universally adored, adored-by-everyone, protagonist-centered harem story, with no side couples. 2. There's everyday life, passion, schemes, and intrigue, but I'm not great at writing genuinely mysterious, intricate plots. Not for readers who want to see a highly intelligent villain's elaborate plans. 3. Everyone gets a proper relationship status, and the puppy gets to live happily ever after with all the people he loves. 4. Heads-up: I wanted to write something that feels like a shonen battle manga mixed with a universally adored protagonist story. Inevitably, there will be plenty of focus on the supporting characters' growth and changes, along with some plot development. There may be a short stretch where the protagonist appears less often. Theme: Everyone deserves a dazzling life.
