The Crown Princess Leaps the Dragon Gate, and the Entire East Sea Explodes

A quirky little grass carp x a haughty crown prince of the Eastern Sea Dragon Clan Blurb: Xie Xi is a little grass carp who dreams of leaping through the Dragon Gate. She envies the way fish transform as they leap over the Dragon Gate and dreams of becoming a dragon herself. Unfortunately, the carp clan has monopolized the Dragon Gate for years, and the grass carp have never had a chance. One day, Xie Xi watched the carp leap through the Dragon Gate and applauded the epic romance between the carp princess Bai Qingying and the dragon prince Mo Yan. On her way home, she suddenly bit down on a fishhook. The weak, helpless, and pitiful Xie Xi was promptly hauled up to the Dragon Palace. Xie Xi: I swear to god. The little grass carp Mo Yan had caught was so ugly that she was probably awful to eat boiled, so he dumped her in the Eastern Palace to work as a maid. But Xie Xi, forced into servitude, wanted nothing more than to return to her happy home. Everyone knew that Mo Yan was in love with the carp princess Bai Qingying. On the day of their wedding, Xie Xi planned to sneak out through a dog hole. But Bai Qingying ran away from the wedding, and Xie Xi somehow ended up in Mo Yan's bridal chamber! The moment Mo Yan lifted her veil, the entire Eastern Sea was thrown into an uproar-- * Xie Xi opened and closed her eyes, and somehow became Mo Yan's crown princess. So the crown princess acted as if she were bearing her humiliation with dignity, while secretly training as hard as she could. She would play dead whenever it suited her and vowed to tough it out no matter what. On the eve of leaping through the Dragon Gate, she handed in divorce papers. Mo Yan stamped them without a second thought. Who could have guessed that the day after the divorce, she would easily leap through the Dragon Gate and become the only golden-scaled dragon besides the Dragon Emperor of the Eastern Sea! The crown prince: ? All the aquatic clans: ??? The Dragon Emperor: What the heck!!! Go get her back already!!! * Mo Yan grew up under the lash. His brothers schemed against him, and his family treated him with cold indifference. With no other choice, he walked a knife's edge to claim the freezing throne. He didn't dare have anything, because he was afraid of losing it. Five hundred years passed in silence, until one day-- He caught a little gray grass carp. She wore two unbelievably silly buns on her head and turned his lifeless Eastern Palace upside down. The wild flapping of her tail stirred the still waters of his heart beyond all repair. [Detailed Content Warnings and Reading Guide] 1. This is an old-fashioned, melodramatic story. The male lead and the female supporting character only use each other; there are no romantic feelings between them. 2. The setting is heavily fictionalized. The Dragon Clan refers to the horned dragon clan (the Dragon King is a horned dragon too). For the purposes of the story, freshwater and saltwater fish are not distinguished: freshwater fish can go into the sea, and saltwater fish can go into rivers. Please point out any other errors. 3. This is my first novel. The writing is straightforward, and the story uses a lot of modern expressions. 4. The Dragon Gate scene takes place in the latter part of the novel. For the first 80% of the story, the female lead remains a grass carp. 5. Please support the official version. I am not responsible for pirated copies. Theme: Hard work will eventually bring transformation.
